That is exactly our thought.
The original integration for alerts had Orion call the exe passing specific data. Our new integrations will use the sdks to pull and/or pull information from orion using swis and sending to ServiceNow as well as using the mid server to round trip back to Orion and update the data in Orion using the SDK as well.
