Re: Custom logo illegible when re-sized in webclient

Hi Frank,

I understand your problem with the custom logo sizing.  Currently, only one custom 400w x 100h logo can be used with the standard login page.  This same logo is scaled down to 160w x 40h for use in the web client interface.  I understand it can be difficult to make both look good.   There is a couple of things you can do to try to make it more legible in the web client.

First thing I would recommend is to design the logo with the 160 x 40 aspect ratio in mind.  Basically, create it to look good at that ratio.   The logo will still need to be saved as a 400 x 100 image, but once shrunk down it should look better.  You can also change the background style of the header in the web client to match your logo(see attached web client screenshot).  This option is found in the same location as the path to where custom logo is defined.

Next, I would look into creating a custom HTML login page.  This can be done on both the server and domain levels.  This option is found in "Limits & Settings" --> "Custom HTML" tab.  I would look at the "Custom HTML Samples" directory which is in your Serv-U install directory.  Basically, you can define your own header, footer, and css file to wrap the login form.  When using this option it will no longer use the custom logo on the login page and only use your custom html.  However, the custom logo will still be used in the web client interface.  NOTE: You can use the samples as templates to create your own custom html layout with a few simple changes.  Just be sure NOT to save them in the install directory as it could be overwritten during an upgrade/update.  I attached a screenshot of one of the sample custom HTML login templates.

Please let me know if you need more assistance.
