Thanks for the detail sir. Yes, as line rates increase this will an issue for any software or appliance providing dedicated filtering / capture. The method you chose by deploying a dedicated aggregation device would be the suggested route to filter traffic down to that which is mission critical. Alternatively we could scale on the server side by deploying a SPAS to each server endpoint.
