By replacing the physical gear, the device that was being monitored is no longer the same physical device. While the new device may have the same IP and string as the old device, it is a new physical device. Orion is not going to match this up with the previous device, as its a different device. The historical data is for the old device. You'd need to either add the node again, as it's a different piece of equipment, or try a discovery.
