Node "Unmanaged" but still alerting??

Hi all,

NOOB #2 question, in SAM a down node went down and an alert was provided.

The node was placed and confirmed as unmanaged, however the alert still exists.

Is this to be expected? had thought once a node is places as unmanaged, it would not trigger any alets etc.
